John Mayer Slams Dating Rumors

Today’s free download is “Half of My Heart” John Mayer’s duet with Country songstress, Taylor Swift and last week's winner of the American Music Award for Artist of the Year.

John performed a free concert on Monday, November 16, 2009  at the Music Hall of  Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York.  The live version of “Half of My Heart”, which was performed during that concert is available for  download below. While Ms. Swift was not there to provide her vocals on the song during the concert, Mayer’s new background singers did a terrific job. You can listen to the studio version (featuring Ms. Swift) on John Mayer’s CD Battle Studies, available in most digital markets and at your local record stores.

There is also a version of it on his radio premiere of Battle Studies broadcast on Radio Sophie on November 9, 2009. It is in the Heavier Octaves Radio Podcast Archives at this link.

Michael Jckson, Taylor Swift Big Winners at American Music Awards-Michael Was All About Love...

Taylor Swift in accepting of her award, graciously thanks the Jackson family and adds that it is an "unimaginable honor" to even be considered in the same category as the King of Pop. Germaine Jackson during his acceptance on behalf of Michael shared with the viewers that Michael was all about love and he wanted everyone to do well. Michael's memorial service demonstrated that well. It was a beautiful experience of sharing by fellow musicians who came out to pay their tribute to the Pop culture phenom. John Mayer Pleases the Girls On New Record Battle Studies

“I’m too young to be that dependable,” he continued. “I don’t want to be that dependable. Something pendulous has to happen. If I’m as self-aware as I say I am, then I would probably know that pretty soon, there’s going to have to be a wrench thrown somewhere so that the momentum keeps moving forward.”

That wrench is not in “Battle Studies,” Mr. Mayer’s fourth album, which, despite its persistent pessimism, remains polite and affable, vulnerable enough to ensure that his female fans — and those are the ones who count — won’t stray. His sweet voice is intact, as is the immediately accessible soft blues-rock he has practically trademarked.

President Obama Asks Democrats to Vote on Historic Health Reform Bill

The legislation would require most Americans to carry insurance and provide federal subsidies to those who otherwise could not afford it. Large companies would have to offer coverage to their employees. Both consumers and companies would be slapped with penalties if they defied the government's mandates.
Insurance industry practices such as denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions would be banned, and insurers would no longer be able to charge higher premiums on the basis of gender or medical history. In a further slap, the industry would lose its exemption from federal antitrust restrictions on price gouging, bid rigging and market allocation.
