"Brother West: Living and Loving Out Loud"- Riverside Church Thursday, October 14,2010

Dr. Cornel West, one of America’s most provocative and admired public intellectuals, will be speaking at the Riverside Church on Thursday,October 14,2010 on his new book,an autobiography written by the scholar himself, entitled,  " Brother West: Living and Loving Out Loud." It  is  his long-awaited life story  and offers us a compelling and intimate exploration of this extraordinary man that is fascinating as a story in its own right, but that is also rich in life-lessons for all of us. Come hear this unparalleled orator as he shares episodes about his childhood, his education on the streets and in school, his family life, his lifelong commitment to the prophetic Christian tradition and unconditional love that began in Sacramento’s Shiloh Baptist Church. These experiences shaped his politics, his passion for the life of the mind, his academic career including the turmoil at Harvard, and much more. Don’t miss one of our national treasures who is also the most entertaining and enlightening public speaker of our era, as he, for the very first time, gets personal.
