Don't Think They Know
Including a touching posthumous tribute to well admired r&b icon Aaliyah and to raise awareness regarding what appears to be gun violence involving youth in the black community, Chris Brown's song "Don't Think They Know" was released June 13,2013 as a single from his sixth studio album X. The video followed on June 20, 2013. There is also a cryptic scene involving some type of alien gathering or mass. Aaliyah appears in the video as a hologram.
In the opening credits of the video, Chris makes this compassionate statement:
" Every two hours in America today a child dies of a gunshot wound. Unity is what we are afraid of so fear is insanity, let's love each other."
Not CB,just Christopher
In an interview with MTV News, Brown responded:
"When I did the video I wanted to do kind of like the Boyz n the Hood theme, also bringing an aspect of the side of the world that people never really talk about anymore. Gun violence or stuff that we deal with in our neighborhood or community that we could just stop"._1/
The video was also dedicated to slain community member and Compton rapper Lil Frogg who lived from 1987-2013. He died from a gun shot wound. See dedication to him near the end of the video in credits.
